Our Hiring Process
- Stage 1
Applied
Once you’ve applied, our recruitment team will review your CV to see how your skills and experience align with the role. You’ll also have the opportunity to include a personal summary, where we’d encourage you to highlight a recent project you’ve delivered and the impact it had. AI is not used to make selection decisions; applications are reviewed by our recruitment team.
- Stage 2
Online Technical Assessment
A 30-minute job-related online assessment including multiple-choice questions and a coding exercise, designed to reflect the key technical skills needed for the role and give you the opportunity to demonstrate your skills in a practical, role-relevant way
- Stage 3
Virtual Call with TA Team
A 30-minute call with the recruiter to talk through the project and role, including hybrid working, location, salary expectations, and key project details, giving you the opportunity to understand the role clearly and decide whether it feels like the right fit.
- Stage 4
Virtual Hiring Manager Technical Interview
A 30-minute virtual interview with the hiring managers to discuss recent projects in more detail, explore the technical work involved, and give you the chance to ask role-specific questions directly to the team.
- Stage 5
Face to Face Pair programming & Competency Interview
A 2-hour in-person interview including a 1-hour pair programming exercise, a short coffee chat with team members, and a 45-minute competency-based interview, giving you the opportunity to meet the team, experience the working style, and learn more about life at UK Biobank.
- Stage 6
Offer
You’ll receive a call from the recruiter to share the good news. Once you have verbally accepted, you’ll receive a written offer by email to review and approve before being introduced to our People Services team, who will support you through onboarding.
