Dr Edward Sykes

I am the Director of Communications here at UK Biobank, which includes responsibility for all our external and internal communications, including our work with the media, participants and researchers. 

UK Biobank is perhaps the world's most important resource for health research, with an unmatched depth of data. The work it is having is already changing our understanding of diseases and we are now approaching a particularly exciting time as ever richer data is being made available to researchers. The organisation is full of friendly, passionate experts who are proud of what they're helping to build.

I have spent my career helping experts explain complex science at the Science Media Centres in the UK and Australia, and international health tech companies Huma and Babylon.
